ANA’S CATWALK DEBUT

Ana De Costa made her catwalk debut with Swarovski at the high profile 'Runway Rocks' show, in collaboration with Coutts, for the first London Jewellery week at the Phillips De Pury Gallery. She designed a body piece for Swarovski inspired by Art Noveau tarot cards, translating the art work of a specific tarot card directly into the body piece she created.

A sash of sparkling crystal beads and chains attach the shoulder piece to an equally decorative headpiece. The headpiece is based on a section of a princess's hair, which appeared on the tarot card. The entwined form demonstrates a luxurious colour fade of crystals.

The asymmetric design was intended to 'drip' naturally across the body, exuding a powerful and sensual form. Studded with Swarovski beads and gold chains, the main shoulder piece is evocative of decorative armour and as the forms weave into and out of each other.

A unique embellishment to the design, combined a light butter coloured handmade Napa leather glove. Ana paired golden metal and chains with jonquil, khaki, lime and cognac shades of crystal, demonstrating her playful use of colour and embodying her freethinking bohemian spirit.
